Set:

The entire show takes place within the confines of The Cretaceous Cabaret. Tables, chairs, tablecloths and simple props placed around the Cabaret may be used to represent different locations that occupy the foreground in each scene as the story unfolds.

Costumes:

As with scene changes, the premium for costumes is on imagination rather than a literal reproduction of what one sees in books on prehistory. Thus, costumes need only be suggestive of various types of creatures, by using, for example, different colored scales for the dinosaurs and tufts of fur for the mammals. Indeed, no costuming at all is required if the actors, by their movement and behavior, can convince the audience that it is looking at a bunch of ancient animals.

Casting:

The author prefers the lead detective, Hieronymous Bones, to be cast as a female. All other genders attributed to characters are purely suggestive and may be altered. Similarly, all roles are neutral as regards race or ethnic background of actors.

Length:

This 60-minute show should be presented without intermission.
